3Q25: In line with market but below INVX
BCH reported a 3Q25 net profit of Bt347mn, down 23% YoY and 10% QoQ. This aligned with consensus but missed INVX, which expected QoQ profit growth. Excluding an extra item, core profit was Bt319mn, down 31% YoY and 17% QoQ, dragged down by lower revenue and a weak EBITDA margin. Although this leads us to cut our forecasts, we expect earnings to improve in 4Q25, driven by the return to growth for its self-pay service revenue. Share price has dropped 23% over the past three months to trade at 18x 2026PE (below -2SD), suggesting that negatives are largely priced in and that the market has low expectations for BCH. Operational improvement will thus be a catalyst. We rate Outperform with a new mid-2026 DCF TP of Bt14 (down from Bt17.5).
3Q25: In line with market but below INVX. BCH reported a 3Q25 net profit of Bt347mn, down 23% YoY and 10% QoQ. This lined up with market consensus but missed our expected QoQ profit growth. Excluding an accounting item of gain on net monetary position for the hyperinflationary economy in Laos PDR, core profit was Bt319mn, down 31% YoY and 17% QoQ, dragged down by lower revenue and weak EBITDA margin.
Highlights:
- Hospital revenue in 3Q25 was Bt3.0bn, down 7% YoY but flat QoQ. Self-pay service was down off last year’s unusually high base in July-August following an influenza outbreak and a drop in revenue from Cambodia patients (2% of 2024 revenue) due to the Thailand-Cambodia border conflict. OPD revenue (37% of revenue) slipped 8% YoY but inched up 2% QoQ while IPD service (29% of revenue) dropped 9% YoY but grew 7% QoQ. SC revenue (34% of revenue) was down 6% YoY and 6% QoQ due to a timing difference in additional revenue related to the 26 chronic diseases (3Q24 and 2Q25).
- EBITDA margin was 24% in 3Q25, down from 27% in 3Q24 and 26.4% in 2Q25 due to lower revenue and weak operations at the new hospital, Kasemrad International Hospital Aranyaprathet, which reported an EBITDA loss of Bt16mn, turning from an EBITDA gain of Bt10mn in 3Q24 and Bt6mn in 2Q25, affected by the tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
Earnings cut. We cut core earnings by 10% in each of 2025 and 2026 to factor in the weak 3Q25 results and lower EBITDA margin assumption (25.5-25.8% from 26.1-26.5%) from the slow ramp-up of the new hospital. In 4Q25, we expect core earnings to be flat YoY but grow QoQ. BCH says self-pay service revenue resumed growth in September and this has continued in 4Q25TD. In terms of net profit, strong YoY growth is expected off the low base in 4Q24 when it had to write off SC revenue from a lower payment for high-cost care (AdjRW>2) by the Social Security Office. We maintain our Outperform rating on BCH with a new mid-2026 DCF TP of Bt14 (down from Bt17.5), based on WACC at 7.5% and long-term growth at 3%
.
Risks.Change in SC reimbursement, slower patient traffic and cost burden at new facilities. We see ESG risk as patient safety (S): BCH has adopted a variety of quality assurance systems to provide continuous patient care.
