Polymer spreads strengthened WoW as product price gains outpaced the modest rise in naphtha costs. PP was the best performer, with its spread expanding 22% WoW to US$461/t on tighter regional supply and resilient packaging demand, while LDPE posted a solid 19% WoW improvement. In contrast, PET was the weakest performer, with its integrated spread declining 13% WoW to US$212/t as higher PTA and MEG costs compressed margins amid persistent polyester oversupply and weak downstream demand in Asia. Meanwhile, aromatics spreads were mixed, with benzene outperforming on firmer demand and tighter supply, while PX remained pressured by weak polyester demand and ample capacity.
