2Q26: In-line with INVX, but missed market
BDMS reported a 2Q26 net profit of Bt3.2bn, down 7% YoY and 20% QoQ, in line with INVX but missing the market estimate by 6%. Excluding a Bt72mn extra item from an insurance claim related to 4Q25 flooding in the South, core profit was Bt3.2bn, down 9% YoY and 22% QoQ. The weak earnings reflected a normal low season, further impacted by the escalating US-Iran conflict, which reduced revenue from Middle Eastern patients. We believe 2Q26 will mark the trough of the year, with earnings expected to recover in 2H26 driven by pent-up healthcare demand from both Thai and international patients. OUTPERFORM rating on BDMS with an end-2026 DCF TP of Bt24.
2Q26: In-line with INVX, but missed market. Highlights:
• Revenue in 2Q26 was Bt25.9bn, up 1% YoY but down 5% QoQ. Thai patient revenue (73% of total revenue) grew 2% YoY and 2% QoQ, while international patient revenue (27% of total revenue) dropped 2% YoY and 18% QoQ. The impact of the US-Iran war on Middle Eastern patients became more pronounced, with revenue falling 24% YoY, while Cambodian patient revenue plummeted 67% YoY due to the border conflict ongoing since June 2025. However, international patient revenue (excluding Cambodian and Middle Eastern patients) continued to grow solidly at 10% YoY, supported by growth from Myanmar (+42%), US (+23%), and Australian (+17%) patients.
• EBITDA margin narrowed to 22.1% in 2Q26 from 22.8% in 2Q25 and 24.6% in 1Q26, dragged down by slower revenue growth.
Earnings forecast maintained, suggesting a better 2H26. 1H26 core profit accounted for 43% of our full-year forecast. We maintain our 2026 earnings projection, expecting an improved outlook in 2H26 driven by potential macroeconomic recovery in Thailand, returning Thai patients who had postponed treatments, normalization of Cambodian patient revenue, and pent-up demand from Middle Eastern patients. Our end-2026 DCF TP is Bt24, based on a WACC of 7.3% and long-term growth of 2.5%.
Risks. Global economic slowdown and geopolitical risk may cause clients to delay elective medical care and make it inconvenient for international patients to come to Thailand for treatment. We see ESG risk in terms of patient safety (S): BDMS has adopted a variety of quality assurance systems to provide continuous patient care.
