2Q26: In-line with estimates
2Q26 net profit was in-line at Bt1.59bn (+14% YoY, +14% QoQ). In July to date, HomePro SSS improved slightly to -2.5% YoY from -4% YoY in June, while MegaHome SSS was flat YoY versus -1% YoY in June, supported by stabilizing steel prices and a gradual return of deferred purchases. We expect its 3Q26F earnings to continue growing YoY on wider margins and ongoing store expansion but down QoQ on seasonality. The share repurchase program through Aug 31 should continue to support the share price. We maintain Outperform with an end-2026 DCF TP of Bt8.0 (WACC 7.1%, LTG 1.5%).
2Q26 net profit was in-line at Bt1.59bn, +14% YoY and +14% QoQ. The YoY growth came from stronger sales from store expansion and gross margin improvement, which more than offset higher SG&A expenses. The QoQ rise reflected seasonal improvement.
2Q26 highlights. Revenue rose 3% YoY, supported by new store openings amid relatively stable SSS. We estimate 2Q26 SSS at flat YoY for HomePro and +1% YoY for MegaHome, improving from -12.5% YoY and -4% YoY in 1Q26. SSS grew slightly YoY in April, supported by higher construction material prices, stockpiling demand and unusually hot weather, which boosted cooling appliance sales. However, SSS softened in May–June due to: 1) store cannibalization, with the second Samui HomePro store opened in May creating an estimated 1% drag on HomePro SSS; and 2) lower steel prices, with rebar prices returning close to pre-war levels while structural steel prices remained slightly elevated, prompting customers to delay purchases in anticipation of further price declines. During the quarter, HMPRO opened two new stores, including a HomePro store in Samui and a MegaHome store in Suphan Buri, bringing its store network to 149 stores (+10% YoY and +1% QoQ) at end-2Q26. Gross margin expanded 190bps YoY to 27.7%, driven by: 1) a higher private-brand sales mix, rising to 21.8% for HomePro and 23.2% for MegaHome at end-2Q26 (vs 20.7% and 20.9% at end-2Q25); and 2) favorable pricing on as product selling prices were adjusted in line with market conditions, alongside continued benefits from low-cost inventory. SG&A/sales increased 110bps YoY to 20.6%, driven by store expansion and higher personnel expenses (off a low base for employee bonuses and incentives last year), though this was partly offset by lower utility and marketing expenses.
Earnings outlook. In July to date, we estimate SSS at -2.5% YoY for HomePro, improving from -4% YoY in June,
while MegaHome SSS was flat YoY, improving from -1% YoY in June. Looking ahead, steel demand should gradually recover as prices stabilize and delayed purchases return, supporting a recovery in SSS from the weak levels seen in May–June. Meanwhile, prices of most products remain stable, except for steel and some chemical products such as paint, while order flow remains normal. We expect 2H26F earnings to continue growing YoY, driven by further gross margin expansion and aggressive store expansion (10 new stores: 5 HomePro and 5 MegaHome), despite our conservative assumption of slightly negative SSS.
Share repurchase continues. HMPRO’s share repurchase program, covering up to 394.5mn shares (3% of total shares outstanding) with a budget of up to Bt3bn, runs from March 1 to August 31, 2026. As of now, it has repurchased 63mn shares at an average price of Bt6.1/share. Ongoing buybacks are set to support the share price.
