2Q26F: Improving QoQ; upside on SC
We expect BCH to report a 2Q26 core profit of Bt339mn, down 11% YoY but up 27% QoQ. The YoY earnings decline is mainly due to a weaker EBITDA margin from rising operating costs amid slow revenue growth, while the QoQ recovery is driven by higher SC revenue. We expect operational and earnings performance to improve in 2H26, with upside potential from a higher SC reimbursement rate, which should become clear in 4Q26. We view BCH as an attractive laggard, as its stock price is up 5% YTD, lagging the SET’s 28% gain. Maintain OUTPERFORM with an end-2026 DCF TP of Bt12.
2Q26 preview: Core profit to improve QoQ. We expect BCH to report a 2Q26 core profit of Bt339mn, down 11% YoY but up 27% QoQ. The YoY earnings decline is mainly due to a weaker EBITDA margin from rising operating costs amid slow revenue growth, while the QoQ improvement is driven by the Social Security Coverage (SC) segment. BCH will release its 2Q26 results on August 14.
Our 2Q26 assumptions: 1) Revenue is estimated at Bt3.0bn, up 1% YoY and 5% QoQ, improving slightly from flat YoY growth in 1Q26, mainly driven by the SC segment (37% of total revenue) which we project revenue growth of 4% YoY and 9% QoQ, driven by Bt70mn in additional payments for 26 chronic diseases. For the self-pay segment (63% of total revenue), revenue should stay flat YoY (up 4% QoQ). Thai patient revenue (50% of total revenue) is expected to grow YoY owing to respiratory disease outbreaks, whereas international patient revenue (13% of total revenue) should decline slightly due to fewer Middle Eastern patients from war impacts and lower Cambodian patient numbers amid the border conflict since June 2025. 2) We estimate the EBITDA margin at 23.9%, contracting 2.2 ppts YoY as operating costs rise amid weak revenue growth. However, this contraction is narrower than the 2.7 ppts drop in 1Q26, reflecting effective cost control.
Earnings forecast maintained. Our 2Q26 preview indicates 1H26 core profit will account for 48% of our full-year forecast. We maintain our earnings projection and expect operational improvement in 2H26, driven by facility expansion and rising healthcare demand from both Thai and international patients, supported by potential easing of the US-Iran war and a better economic backdrop. Our end-2026 DCF TP is Bt12, based on a WACC of 7.5% and a long-term growth rate of 2.5%.
Upside potential from SC reimbursement rate hike, clarity expected in 4Q26. An ad-hoc subcommittee, including representatives from the Private Hospital Association, was formed to study and propose adjustments to Social Security reimbursement rates, which have remained unchanged for 3–6 years. The timeline is as follows: The subcommittee will hold its first meeting in mid-August and complete all three planned meetings by mid-to-late September. The proposal will then be submitted to the Social Security Office’s medical committee to consider the rate increase, expected between September and October. Our sensitivity analysis indicates that a 5% increase in average reimbursement rates across services would lift BCH’s 2027 earnings forecast by 13%, compared with 10% for CHG and 16% for RJH.
Risks. Change in SC reimbursement, slower patient traffic and cost burden at new facilities. We see ESG risk as patient safety (S): BCH has adopted a variety of quality assurance systems to provide continuous patient care.
