2Q26F: YoY uptrend to continue; upside on SC

We estimate CHG’s core profit in 2Q26 at Bt225mn, up 8% YoY, driven by a wider EBITDA margin continuing from 1Q26 despite weak revenue, but down 9% QoQ due to lower revenue. The 2Q26 preview indicates a slight earnings upside to our full-year forecast based on an expected operational recovery in 2H26. Potential upside stems from an SC reimbursement rate hike, which should become clearer in 4Q26. For YTD, CHG’s share price has risen 3%, lagging the SET’s 28% gain, though a solid earnings outlook and potential upside should support the share price. Maintain OUTPERFORM with an end-2026 DCF TP of Bt1.9.

2Q26 preview: YoY uptrend to continue. We estimate CHG’s core profit in 2Q26 at Bt225mn, up 8% YoY, mainly driven by a wider EBITDA margin continuing from 1Q26 despite weak revenue, but down 9% QoQ due to lower revenue. CHG will release its 2Q26 results on August 14.

Our 2Q26 assumptions: 1) Revenue is estimated at Bt2.0bn, flat YoY—a weaker trend than the 4% YoY growth in 1Q26—and down 3% QoQ. By service, we expect OPD revenue to maintain its growth momentum (up 2% YoY, flat QoQ), driven by expanding medical services, such as wellness, and rising patient volume from respiratory disease outbreaks. Meanwhile, IPD revenue is expected to remain weak (down 6% YoY, flat QoQ). For Social Security Coverage (SC) service revenue, we expect 3% YoY growth, driven by an increase in insured persons and a low base from revenue write-offs related to 26 chronic diseases, though down 10% QoQ. We expect CHG will not record additional revenue from additional payments for 26 chronic diseases, unlike BCH. We expect Universal Coverage (UC) service revenue to remain strong (up 17% YoY, down 1% QoQ), supported by rising referrals from government hospitals for specialized treatments such as heart surgery and cancer care. 2) We estimate the EBITDA margin at 20.9%, widening from 20.2% in 2Q25, reflecting efficient cost management.

Earnings forecast maintained. Our 2Q26 preview indicates 1H26 core profit will account for 50% of our full-year forecast, suggesting slight earnings upside. We forecast 2% core earnings growth to Bt945mn in 2026, recovering from a 15% earnings contraction in 2025. Negative impacts from over-recognized SC revenue in 2025 that led to write-offs should subside, as CHG has adopted a more conservative revenue recognition policy this year. Our end-2026 DCF TP is Bt1.9, based on a WACC of 7.5% and long-term (LT) growth of 2.5%.

Upside potential from SC reimbursement rate hike, clarity expected in 4Q26. An ad-hoc subcommittee, including representatives from the Private Hospital Association, was formed to study and propose adjustments to Social Security reimbursement rates, which have remained unchanged for 3–6 years. The timeline is as follows: The subcommittee will hold its first meeting in mid-August and complete all three planned meetings by mid-to-late September. The proposal will then be submitted to the Social Security Office’s medical committee to consider the rate increase, expected between September and October. Our sensitivity analysis indicates that a 5% increase in average reimbursement rates across services would lift CHG’s 2027 earnings forecast by 10%, compared with 13% for BCH and 16% for RJH.

Risks. Change in SC reimbursement, slower patient traffic and cost burden at new facilities. We see ESG risk as patient safety (S): CHG has adopted a variety of quality assurance systems to provide continuous patient care.
