2Q26F: FSU momentum supports earnings
PRM’s share price has risen 15% over the past month, significantly outperforming the SET’s 1.3% gain, reflecting stronger investor confidence in its earnings outlook and the positive impact of the share reduction. We expect 2Q26F core earnings (due Aug 13) to rise 6.7% QoQ to Bt541mn, driven by stronger FSU performance and resilient COC operations. We believe investor sentiment should remain positive as the storage business recovers and earnings visibility improves. Maintain a positive view on earnings momentum into 2H26 and reiterate OUTPERFORM rating, while raising TP from Bt9.70 to Bt11.40 (5.4x EV/EBITDA).
FSU remains the key earnings driver. We expect FSU to be the largest contributor to earnings growth in 2Q26, supported by 100% utilization throughout the quarter, compared with 93% in 1Q26. Demand for oil storage remained robust as traders maintained elevated inventories amid oil market volatility. Although PRM offered modest rate discounts to secure longer-term contracts, the earnings benefit from full utilization should more than offset the lower charter rates. As a result, FSU earnings are expected to improve substantially QoQ and remain the primary driver of group profit growth.
PCT margins soften while other segments remain resilient. We expect PCT revenue to rise QoQ due to increased vessel activity and healthy fuel transportation demand, although profitability will likely be affected by higher bunker fuel costs. The lag between cost inflation and freight rate adjustments is expected to compress margins in 2Q26. Meanwhile, COC operations continued to run at near-full utilization and benefited modestly from FX movements. Earnings from the OSV business are expected to decline slightly due to temporary repair-related downtime of crane service, while shipping agency earnings may soften marginally due to weaker export-related cargo activity.
Contract renewals strengthen medium-term visibility. We view the recent FSU contract extensions as a significant positive development for earnings visibility. Several customers have committed to longer-term contracts, including Japanese customers through end-2027 and a Western oil company through end-2026. Management indicated that the earliest major contract expiry is now at year-end, supporting expectations for continued 100% utilization through at least 4Q26. The higher level of contract coverage reduces utilization risk and improves cash flow predictability. We believe these extensions enhance earnings quality and support valuation over the medium term.
Maintain positive outlook; TP raised to Bt11.40. We remain constructive on PRM, supported by stronger FSU utilization, resilient tanker demand, and fleet expansion. Management confirmed that six new vessels remain on schedule for delivery and is evaluating additional opportunities in the FSU and tanker segments. Dividend prospects are improving, with a higher dividend from 2026 operations than from 2025 operations targeted, subject to board approval. TP is raised to Bt11.40 from Bt9.70, reflecting an EV/EBITDA re-rating to 5.4x (-0.5SD) from 4.5x (-1SD), and a 4.6% reduction in shares outstanding following the cancellation of treasury shares.
Key risks include weaker oil demand affecting tanker and offshore services, oil price volatility, changes in international maritime regulations, and FX volatility. ESG risks include emissions and potential ecosystem impacts from offshore operations
