Launching a share repurchase program
TCAP will launch a share repurchase program of up to Bt7.5bn for a maximum of 104,861,673 shares, representing no more than 10% of its total paid-up shares. This will boost ROE by around 90 bps. We raise TCAP’s 2026F earnings by 3%, mainly on earnings contribution from TTB. We now expect 2026F earnings to rise 11%, driven by higher net insurance income and lower credit costs. We expect 2Q26F earnings to rise 2% QoQ and 6% YoY. We maintain NEUTRAL with a TP hike to Bt73 on an expected decent dividend yield of 5.3%.
Launching a share repurchase program. TCAP’s board of directors approved a share repurchase program for capital management. Under the program, the company may repurchase its shares in an amount not exceeding Bt7.5bn, with a maximum of 104,861,673 shares, representing no more than 10% of its total paid-up shares. The repurchase period is scheduled from 17 August 2026 to 16 February 2027. This will help enhance ROE by around 90 bps if it completes the total Bt7.5bn program.
2Q26 preview: Up slightly QoQ, YoY. We expect 2Q26F earnings to be Bt2.18bn, up 2% QoQ (with a larger earnings contribution from TTB and higher dividend income partly offset by higher ECL and lower insurance income) and up 6% YoY (on lower ECL and a higher earnings contribution from affiliates).
Raise 2026F earnings. We raise TCAP’s 2026F earnings by 3% to reflect an upward revision in TTB’s 2026F earnings forecast by 4% and higher insurance income. We now expect 2026F earnings to rise 11%, driven by higher net insurance income and lower credit costs.
Decent dividend yield. We also raised TCAP’s 2026F DPS by Bt0.25 to Bt3.75 (46% payout) vs. Bt3.5 in 2025 (47% payout), translating to 5.3% dividend yield.
Maintain Neutral with a hike in TP. We maintain NEUTRAL on TCAP with an increased TP of Bt73 (based on 0.9x PBV for mid-2027) to reflect a positive impact on ROE from the share repurchase program, an upward revision in earnings, and a rollover to mid-2027.
Key risks: 1) Asset quality risk from an economic slowdown and inflationary pressure from the energy crisis arising from the Middle East conflict, 2) a fall in used truck prices, 3) NIM risk from a faster rise in cost of funds than expected, 4) downside risk to loan growth from falling truck sales and 5) ESG risk from market conduct.
