1QFY27: Core profit below estimate
STANLY reported a 1QFY27 (Apr–Jun 2026) net profit of Bt362mn, down 2% YoY and 19% QoQ. Excluding an FX gain of Bt23mn, core profit came in at Bt338mn, down 11% YoY and 24% QoQ, below consensus estimates by 10%. The primary drag on earnings was weak sales. While this leads us to revise down STANLY’s core profit by 3% in FY2027, STANLY’s sales and earnings should improve in 2HFY27, driven by new orders for lighting sets and expansion into new product segments. STANLY’s earnings growth profile is unexciting, but its high dividend yield of 8.5% in FY2027 should provide a price cushion. NEUTRAL with a mid-2027 TP of Bt247, based on a PE of 9.2x.
1QFY27: Core profit was below estimate. The primary drag on earnings was weak sales, down 9% YoY and 10% QoQ, reflecting a downturn in Thailand automotive production which dropped 9% YoY and 8% QoQ mainly due to weaker auto export from the US-Iran war. A positive takeaway was the resilient gross profit margin of 22.9%, which expanded from 21.6% in 1QFY26, despite contracting from 24.5% in 4QFY26, reflecting effective cost control and raw material sourcing amid pressures from rising raw material prices e.g., plastic resin and electronic components.
STANLY maintains its sales growth target. The overall tone from the analyst meeting was neutral. For FY2027 (Apr 2026 – Mar 2027), management maintained its sales growth target of 5–10% YoY, despite the 9% YoY drop in 1QFY27. This will be supported by new orders for lighting sets and expansion into new product segments, such as mold manufacturing and motorcycle plastic parts injection. These initiatives are slated to launch in 2QFY27 and deliver a meaningful top-line contribution in 2HFY27. Gross margin pressures in 1QFY27, driven by higher plastic resin and electronic component prices, should ease in 2QFY27 as STANLY has negotiated for price adjustments with clients. Capex is planned at Bt1.0bn, which is stable from FY2026 but below historical levels of Bt1.2bn–1.5bn.
Slight earnings cut. We slightly revised down STANLY’s core profits by 3% in FY2027 and 2% in FY2028 to factor in the weak sales and core profit in 1QFY27. After the revision, we forecast STANLY’s core profit of Bt2.0bn in FY2027, up 4% YoY. For the 2QFY27 outlook, we expect core profit to increase QoQ driven by dividend income recognition, but decrease YoY from a high base of dividend income in the previous year. We estimate FY2027 DPS at Bt20, based on a 77% dividend payout ratio (the 5-year average), which implies an 8.5% dividend yield. We rollover the valuation to mid-2027 and the TP increases to Bt247 (from an end-2026 TP of Bt245), based on a PE multiple of 9.2x (-0.5SD).
Risks. Key risks include an economic slowdown that could erode auto demand and rising raw material prices. The primary ESG risk relates to environmental issues (E).
