2Q26: In-line with estimates
PR9 reported a 2Q26 net profit of Bt184mn, up 1% YoY and flat QoQ, in line with INVX and market estimates. Revenue remained resilient, supported by international patients, while EBITDA margin improved through effective cost control. We maintain our earnings forecast and expect stronger 2H26 earnings, driven by improving visibility of Middle Eastern patient demand and rising contributions from high-complexity treatments. Despite these positives, PR9 has fallen 4% YTD, underperforming SETHELTH (+5%) and the SET (+28%), suggesting the recovery is not yet priced in. PR9 is our top pick in the healthcare sector. OUTPERFORM with a mid-2027 DCF TP of Bt23.
2Q26: In-line with estimates. PR9 reported a 2Q26 net profit of Bt184mn, up 1% YoY and flat QoQ. Earnings were in line with INVX and market estimates. Revenue growth remained resilient despite the low season, supported by international patients, particularly from the Middle East and Myanmar, while EBITDA margin expanded on effective cost control.
International patients remained the key growth driver. Revenue from hospital operations was Bt1.31bn, up 3% YoY and 2% QoQ, broadly in line with our estimate. Growth was driven by IPD revenue, which increased 7% YoY and 5% QoQ, reflecting a larger contribution from international patients and more complex cases. International patient revenue rose 11% YoY and 14% QoQ, accounting for 29% of hospital revenue, led by Middle Eastern and Myanmar patients. Revenue from Myanmar patients achieved a record quarterly high, highlighting the success of the company’s international market expansion strategy. Thai patient revenue remained relatively soft, declining 0.3% YoY and 2% QoQ.
EBITDA margin expansion. EBITDA margin improved to 23.8% in 2Q26 from 23.4% in 2Q25, in line with our expectation of margin expansion driven by cost control. SG&A expenses fell 1% YoY, with SG&A-to-revenue improving to 20.3% in 2Q26 from 21.0% in 2Q25, primarily due to lower selling and marketing expenses. However, depreciation-to-revenue increased to 6.9% in 2Q26 from 6.0% in 2Q25 following investments in medical technology and information systems, including the da Vinci Xi robotic surgery platform.
Earnings forecast maintained. 1H26 core profit totaled Bt369mn, down 4% YoY and accounting for 46% of our full-year forecast of Bt808mn. We maintain our earnings forecast and continue to expect stronger earnings in 2H26. Key drivers will be improving visibility of Middle Eastern patient demand, particularly from Qatari patients, and a greater contribution from high-complexity medical services. PR9 continues to expand these services through the APD clinic, the da Vinci Xi robotic surgery system and the biplane angiography system. We maintain OUTPERFORM with a mid-2027 DCF TP of Bt23, based on a 7.7% WACC and 2.5% LT growth rate.
Interim dividend. PR9 announced an interim dividend of Bt0.20/share for its 1H26 performance, implying a dividend yield of 1.1%. The XD date is August 24, 2026, with payment scheduled for September 7, 2026.
Risks: A global economic slowdown, geopolitical risks, revenue concentration risk and intense competition. We see ESG risk as patient safety (S): PR9 has adopted a variety of quality assurance systems to provide continuous patient care.
